About John Charles Cook
A distinguished gentleman with a
distinct style, John Charles Cook plays a superb, eclectic
guitar with an extensive repertoire, which includes
classical, jazz standards and popular music. Some of his
favorite artists and composers include Johann Sebastian
Bach, George Gershwin, and Stevie Wonder.
John Charles is a rare performer who embodies
professionalism, class, grace and elegance in each
performance. He attributes his success to his supportive
audiences throughout his musical career. During each of his
appearances, he attempts to share with his audience the
beauty, joy and versatility of the guitar. To him, music is
not just an art; it is life.
John Charles Cook has been performing for over thirty years
in the private sector as well as for major corporate businesses,
non-profit agencies, universities, colleges, TV, radio, concert
halls and country clubs. He brings a very warm and classy style
to each and every performance whether he is playing background
music or providing entertainment to a commanding center stage.
He has also studied with John Knowles while attending Fisk
University and Master Classes with David Tanenbaum at Hart
School of Music. He currently teaches guitar at Carondelet Music
in Latham, New York and conducts private lessons as well. John
Charles facilitates guitar workshops at various area schools
where he provides an overview of his music and performances.
John Charles is in the development stages of starting his own
music school. This school will focus on learning instruments,
composing, arranging, and performance. John Charles enjoys his
music and loves to share his gift with all who are willing to
